Normal lab operating hours are Monday thru Friday, 8am - 4pm

The lab is located in the University of Chicago Medical Center. Enter at the Goldblatt Pavilion entrance (860 E. 59th Street.) and make your way to the "L" elevators (a hard left after you reach the security desk and then you will follow that hallway to the elevator). Take the "L" elevator to the 4th floor. Exit the elevator and make two quick right turns. You'll see the lab's main office right in front of you, Room 480-A.

Driving directions to the Lab

From Lake Shore Drive:
        • Exit at 57th Drive (the Museum of Science and Industry).
        • Go west and curve around the museum.
        • Take the fourth right onto the Midway Plaisance.
        • Turn right on Cottage Grove.
        • Turn right immediately on 59th st.
        • Turn left on Maryland Ave and park in the parking garage, or park on the street.

 From Dan Ryan Expressway / I-94:
        • Exit at Garfield Blvd (55th St) and drive east
        • Follow the signs for 55th Street through Washington Park.
        • Turn right on Cottage Grove Avenue.
        • Turn left on 59th st.
        • Turn left on Maryland Ave and park in the parking garage, or park on the street.

Please note: Street parking is limited near the hospital, however free parking can sometimes be found along Cottage Grove Ave., south of the Midway Plaisance. We recommend taking public transportation, if possible.

Coming from Chicago area, by CTA

 Red Line:
        • Take the Red Line to the Garfield stop.
        • Exit the CTA station, cross the street (55th street) and board the #55 bus (eastbound).
        • Get off the bus at Cottage Grove. 
        • Walk 4 blocks south on Cottage Grove. 
        • Turn left on 59th, and walk 1 block. 
        • Take 1st left onto South Maryland Avenue
        • Enter the hospital at the Goldblatt Pavilion (860 E 59th St.) 

Green Line:
        • Take the Green Line to 63rd/Cottage Grove stop (the end of the line)
        • Walk 4 blocks north on Cottage Grove. 
        • Turn right on 59th, and walk 1 block. 
        • Take 1st left onto South Maryland Avenue
        • Enter the hospital at the Goldblatt Pavilion (860 E 59th St.) 

  #6 bus (from downtown):
        • Take the #6 bus south to 59th street.
        • Walk 7 blocks west on 59th Street
        • Turn Right on S. Maryland Avenue
        • Enter the hospital at the Goldblatt Pavilion (860 E 59th St.) 

 #4 bus (from downtown & S. Cottage Grove):
        • Take the #4 bus to 59th and Cottage Grove
        • Walk 1 block east on 59th street
        • Take 1st left onto South Maryland Avenue
        • Enter the hospital at the Goldblatt Pavilion (860 E 59th St.) 

  Other buses that can bring you near the hospital are the #55, the #192, the #171, the #172, the #2, and the #59.
